Dak Nong (VNA) – The Central Highlands province of Dak Nong has completed the building of 80 auxiliary markers on the border shared with Cambodia’s Mundulkiri province as set in 2017.

The provincial steering committee on border marker planting on December 27-28 studied the last 17 markers newly built in Tuy Duc district.

Nguyen Dinh Nghia, permanent member of the steering committee, said the completion of border marker building has reflected Vietnam’s progresses in border demarcation and marker planting affairs.

The markers are expected to help competent agencies of the two sides manage the common border effectively, contributing to maintaining stability in border areas and advancing cooperation between Dak Nong and Mundulkiri, especially in economy and trade, said Nghia, who is also Deputy Director of the provincial Department of External Affairs.

Colonel Ngo Hung Cuong, Deputy Commander of the provincial Border Guard Command, said the markers will serve as a legal foundation for border guards to protect national border sovereignty and security.
