PM Hun Sen: Cambodia treasures ties with Vietnam

Vietnam Plus | 10 August 2018

Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on August 9 sent a letter to Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, thanking him for his congratulations on Cambodia’s successful organisation of the general election on July 29.

In his letter, PM Hun Sen affirmed that Cambodia pays due attention to its long-term relationship with Vietnam.

He noted that the continuous development of cooperation in all fields between the two countries has demonstrated the fine neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability.

The encouraging development of bilateral collaboration has benefited both sides, helped promote peace in the two countries, and contributed to stability and prosperity of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to which Vietnam and Cambodia are members, PM Hun Sen said.

The Cambodian leader expressed his wish to meet PM Phuc at the 27th World Economic Forum on ASEAN slated for September in Hanoi.

The sixth general election of Cambodia on July 29 drew 20 political parties vying for 125 seats in the parliament. According to the National Election Committee, the election was a success with 82.89 percent of those with voting rights going to the polls, much higher than the turnout rate of 69.61 percent in the fifth election in 2013.

The committee is scheduled to announce the preliminary results of the election on August 11 and the official results on August 15 if no proper complaints are made.–VNA

Cheap fuckers. Last year Sam Rainsy asked them to stay in prison to defy Hun Sen's fake pardon, they refused and also apologized to Hun Sen.

Now, they quickly jumped to Hun Sen's latest cheap offer to return to politics under Hun Sen's scheme. They defy Sam Rainsy's call to boycott Hun Sen's scheme.

Only when Hun Sen pardons and reinstate Sam Rainsy as the true and only leader of CNRP then the offer is legit. Everything else is fake and cheap, devised to split CNRP.

Cheap fuckers, do not fall for Hun Sen's cheap tricks.

Sam Rainsy gave a stern warning: Those who listened to Hun Sen's lie and took the offer to rejoin politic are in act of betraying CNRP. They will suffer the same fate as Kem Ley who betrayed CNRP. Without CNRP's protection, Kem Ley was killed by Hun Sen.

    ---------------------------
Hun Sen has fallen into Sam Rainsy's trap. Hun Sen accepted the bet and imprisoned Kem Sokha longer in order to prove that International cannot pressure Cambodia to release Kem Sokha.

With Kem Sokha staying in prison longer, Sam Rainsy can rightfully reclaim CNRP's presidency, stolen by Kem Sokha (with Hun Sen's help). Remember Hun Sen's gloating that he helped Kem Sokha to take over CNRP. Remember Hun Sen's gloating that Sam Rainsy's falling into his trap.

Now, both Hun Sen (and Kem Sokha) have fallen into Sam Rainsy's trap. The balance of power will be restored. Sam Rainsy is the sole leader of the opposition to challenge the evil Hun Sen.

    Replying to @RainsySam

It's troubling how much you emanate demagoguery and such divisiveness within your own party. The saddest of all is your narcissism contributes to the same failed politics that has kept Hun Sen in power for over three decades. Lead sir. Stop accusing. Lead or get out of the way.

I predict Scam Rainsy will refuse to hand back the CNRP's presidency to Kem Sokha after he would be released from prison (house arrest) and cleared of all charge. Scam Rainsy will come up with some bullshitting reason then continue to keep the CNRP presidency.

He would claim: "I tricked Hun Sen to release Kem Sokha with no intention to relinquish CNRP leadership. But the truth is: I am the true leader of CNRP."

3/13 Sam Rainsy, CNRP co-founder & former President, is the only person with the historic and popular legitimacy to lead the CNRP in a transition period which will end at the moment when President Kem Sokha has full freedom restored and can personally express himself in public.

Sam Rainsy will keep CNRP's presidency by keeping to declare "his freedom is not fully restore and cannot personally express himself in public."

Sam Rainsy pleged that he will step down and yield CNRP's presidency back to Kem Sokha when Kem Sokha is released and totally free. Otherwise he will keep the presidency.

I want Sam Rainsy to step down and yield CNRP's presidency when Kem Sokha is released, no and-if-or-but.

He [Sam Rainsy] said he will definitely return home just before local elections in June next year.

I challenge anyone to show Kem Sokha's breaking his promise to the people.

The policeman collapsed in fear when he realized the CNRP lawmaker was rich and powerful driving a very expensive luxurious Lexus SUV worth 80,000 USD after tax.

In a country where most commoners only make a hundred US dollars a month, 80K USD is a huge sum indicating the wealth, power and corruption of the CNRP official.

Luckily for him, Mr. Hun Sen can protect him and give justice.

Only ex-CNRP officials who are in exile can truly speak the truth without fear of repercussion from Hun Cent. Any one else who are still in Cambodia carries no value, no wait.

Only Sam Rainsy can speak for CNRP and he will give back the CNRP's presidency to Kem Sokha when he [Sam Rainsy] becomes prime minister of Cambodia. That way, Kem Sokha will no longer be under Hun Cent's threat.

On Wednesday, Mr Rainsy sent a letter to the European Union saying that the Cambodian government has not complied with requests made for democratic reforms by EU High Representative Federica Mogherini on September 13.

Hun Sen's regime will be crushed next year when people revolt. The army will heed to the will of the people. His lie can no longer fool the people when EU and the world impose sanction against Cambodia. The truth will come out.

Don't be stupid. Sam Rainsy is Hun Sen's buddy. Hun Sen warned Sam Rainsy that his immunity will be stripped by the vote in the National Assembly. Thus Sam Rainsy would stay in South Korea instead of boarding the plane home to Cambodia.

Hun Sen must agree to Sam Rainsy's request for a package deal: All 118 former CNRPs to be lifted from the ban AND Sam Rainsy to be cleared from all charges.

Hun Sen must not be allowed to play dirty trick to remove ban only for a few CNRPs applying individually. There are always coward and stupid people who would listen to Hun Sen's lie then betray CNRP.

If Hun Sen continues to defy Sam Rainsy and plays stupid trick, Cambodia will suffer. Sam Rainsy clearly has the blessing and backing from EU. EU will punish Cambodia severely and only Sam Rainsy can ask EU to lift any sanction against Cambodia.

Agree, Kem Sokha's party only had 3 seats while Sam Rainsy's party had 26 seats. But with Hun Sen's help, Kem Sokha usurped the presidency from Sam Rainsy. I found this out from Theary Seng.

Even Hun Sen gloated about this. He said, "I am not that smart, but the oppositions are just too stupid."

I feel sorry for Mr. Hun Sen, if he does not build the monument to thank Vietnam, Vietnam will get upset. But if he does, you people will get upset.

Why don't you just pretend to thank Vietnam with empty words, then Vietnam will not get upset. Save money right? Why is that people are so easily getting upset anyway?

Look at Mr. Hun Sen, he thanked the opposition to be stupid so that he could win easily, and the opposition got upset! And I feel sorry for the opposition.

I got it, the idiot @2:11PM misrepresented Kem Sokha's two daughters. The two only wanted their father to remain as the president of the defunct CNRP because he was brave, challenging Hun Sen multiple times head on thus suffered prison multiple times. They view Sam Rainsy as a coward who kept running away and even refused to board the airplane back to Cambodia at the last minutes to avoid any potential jail sentence.

(Cambodian National Assembly voted to strip Sam Rainsy's immunity so that he could be potentially prosecuted and sent to prison. That's enough to stop Sam Rainsy from going back to Cambodia.)

I view Sam Rainsy as clever while Kem Sokha as a bone-head. The two sisters view their father as brave while Sam Rainsy as a coward. It's just a matter point of view.

But there is nowhere I see the two sisters said Sam Rainsy cannot be in CNRP. To say "CNRP without Sam Rainsy will take you to hell", the person will go to hell instead.

Sam Rainsy said only two cheap ex-CNRP would apply to return to politics. The father and son duo wanted to form their own political party and movement but that's a betrayal to Sam Rainsy. And they will end up like Kem Ley.

Nobody will be allowed to fall into Hun Sen's cheap trick. All must united under Sam Rainsy. Unfortunately others have been stepping up attacking on Sam Rainsy.

I only have one question: Did Rainsy get a permission from Kem Sokha last year to issue a statement in support China's claim to the South China sea?

If yes, Kem Sokha and CNRP lacks credibility with USA. If no, then Kem Sokha should revolt, kick Rainsy out of CNRP to gain credibility with USA.

    -Drgunzet-

P.S. This what I see: Rainsy wants:

    1. China to support him to get to power and then invest in Cambodia.
    2. USA to support him to get to power.
    3. Vietnam to support him to stay in power.

USA has been working very hard with other ASEAN country to contain China's control of the South China sea, the international sea lane vital for trades. This trade route is vital to Japan, India, South Korea, Taiwan and of course Vietnam and many other country.

By openly supporting China over the South China sea issue, Rainsy has already painted himself into a corner with China. Yet China rejected him like a cheap sick whore. Rainsy must go if CNRP would have a future.

I already wrote last year that Rainsy is no match for Mr. Hun Sen. Remember how the international ranked the match up between Thailand's Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva versus Mr. Hun Sen over the temple dispute? Mr. Hun Sen was viewed as the Master in Diplomacy.

You folks are really wasting time with Rainsy.
