Dear Senator Christine Milne...

Dear Senator Christine Milne,

Thank you for your great efforts and works in initiating and bringing a motion on Cambodia, successfully passed and endorsed in the Australian senate and your recent comment about Australia government plans to refugees to Cambodia.
We are very much indebted to your works in bringing the plight of the Cambodian people into focus in the great democracy of Australia. It’s a good feeling to know that we are not alone in our strife for freedom. It is comforting indeed to see that the Australian Greens are always on the side of the suppressed and the voiceless people.
As Cambodian-Australians, we couldn’t imagine what it would be like without the support from the international community in the current situation which the Cambodian people are left to face the authoritarian regime of Mr. Hun Sen. For this reason, we appreciate the works done by Australia through the Australian Greens together with the international community in applying pressure on the Hun Sen government to stop human rights abuse, killings, deforestation, etc.

The Cambodian people have no other way to turn to, except the peace loving international community in which Australia has played a major role in it.
Freedom and democracy have always been elusive for the Cambodian people. With the international community support, peace, freedom, and justice will prevail in Cambodia for the Cambodian people.
On behalf of Cambodians and as Cambodian-Australians, we are very grateful to Australian people, especially the Australian Greens under your leadership in helping to bring the motion on Cambodia to the Australian Senate.

Yours sincerely,
Chhayri Marm
President of Cambodia National Rescue Party in Sydney (Australia)
