Brazil's fallen heroes in tears as fans boo them off after crushing 7-1 defeat by the German juggernaut in World Cup semi-final leaving host nation in agony

Brazil hammered 7-1
The dreams of Brazilian football fans have been left in tatters as Germany beat the host nation 7-1 in the World Cup semi-final. Spectators inside in The Mineirao Stadium in Belo Horizonte along with the millions of others watching the horror show unfold around the country were left in tears as their side succumbed to the humiliating defeat, ending hopes of a title on home soil. As the team, led by a distraught David Luiz (bottom left), walked off the pitch, they were booed following the performance which equalled Brazil's biggest ever defeat and the heaviest ever loss in a World Cup semi-final. Four goals in the space of just seven first-half minutes, started by Thomas Muller (centre) silenced an entire nation. Fans in Berlin (top right) met the result with contrasting emotions as they celebrated the victory outside the Brandenburg Gate.
