Genesis 28

អ៊ីសាក បានហៅ យ៉ាកុប មកឲ្យពរ, ហើយ ហាមថា៖ «កូន មិនត្រូវ យកស្ត្រីសាសន៍ កាណាន ធ្វើជាភរិយាទេ។ ចូរ កូន ធ្វើដំណើរ ទៅស្រុកជីតា ខាងម្ដាយ របស់កូន នៅប៉ាដាន់-អើរ៉ាម, ហើយ រកប្រពន្ធ ពីចំណោម កូនស្រី របស់ ឡាបាន់, ដែលត្រូវ ជាឪពុកធំ របស់កូន នោះវិញ។ សូម ព្រះជាម្ចាស់ ដ៏មាន ឫទ្ធានុភាព ខ្ពង់ខ្ពស់ បំផុត ប្រទានពរកូន ឲ្យមានកូនចៅ ជាច្រើន និងកើន ចំនួនឡើង បានទៅជា ប្រជាជាតិមួយ ចំនួនធំ។ សូម ព្រះអង្គ ប្រទានពរកូន និងពូជពង្សកូន, ដូចទ្រង់ បានប្រទាន ដល់លោក អប្រាហាំ កាលពីមុនដែរ, ដើម្បី ឲ្យកូន ទទួលទឹកដី ដែលកូនស្នាក់ អាស្រ័យនៅនេះ, ទុក ជាកម្មសិទ្ធិ, គឺ ជាទឹកដី ដែលព្រះជាម្ចាស់ បានប្រគល់ ដល់លោក អប្រាហាំ។» បន្ទាប់មក អ៊ីសាក ឲ្យយ៉ាកុប ចេញដំណើរ ទៅស្រុក ប៉ាដាន់-អើរ៉ាម, គឺ ទៅផ្ទះ ឡាបាន់ ជាកូន របស់ បេធូអែល ជនជាតិអារ៉ាម, ដែលត្រូវ ជាបងប្រុស របស់ រេបិកា, ម្ដាយ របស់ យ៉ាកុប និងអេសាវ។

អេសាវ ឃើញអ៊ីសាក ឲ្យពរ យ៉ាកុប និងចាត់គាត់ ឲ្យទៅរក ប្រពន្ធ នៅស្រុក ប៉ាដាន់-អើរ៉ាម, ទាំងផ្ដែផ្ដាំ នៅពេល ឲ្យពរ នោះថា, កុំ យកស្ត្រី សាសន៍ កាណាន មកធ្វើ ជាភរិយា។ គាត់ ឃើញយ៉ាកុប ធ្វើតាមបង្គាប់ ឪពុកម្ដាយ, ចេញដំណើរ ទៅស្រុក ប៉ាដាន់-អើរ៉ាម។ អេសាវ យល់ឃើញ ថា, អ៊ីសាក ជាឪពុក មិនពេញចិត្ត នឹងស្ត្រីសាសន៍ កាណានទេ។ អេសាវ ក៏ទៅរក អ៊ីស្មាអែល, ហើយ យកប្រពន្ធ មួយទៀត, គឺ ម៉ាហាឡាត, ជាបង របស់ នេបាយ៉ូត ដែលត្រូវ ជាកូនស្រី របស់ អ៊ីស្មាអែល, កូន របស់ អប្រាហាំ។

សុបិននិមិត្ត របស់ យ៉ាកុប

យ៉ាកុប ចាកចេញ ពីក្រុង បៀរសេបា, ឆ្ពោះទៅកាន់ស្រុក ហារ៉ាន។ ពេលថ្ងៃ ជិតលិច, លោក បានទៅដល់ កន្លែងមួយ, ហើយ ស្នាក់នៅ ទីនោះ។ លោក បានយកថ្ម មួយដុំ មកកើយ, រួច សំរាន្តលក់ នៅទីនោះទៅ។ លោក សុបិនឃើញ មានជណ្ដើរមួយ បញ្ឈរ លើផែនដី, ចុងវា ខ្ពស់ រហូត ដល់មេឃ, ហើយ មានទេវតា របស់ ព្រះជាម្ចាស់ នាំគ្នា ចុះឡើង តាមជណ្ដើរនោះ។ ពេលនោះ ព្រះយ៉ាវេ គង់នៅ ក្បែរលោក, មានព្រះបន្ទូល ថា៖ «យើង ជាព្រះយ៉ាវេ, ជាព្រះ របស់ អប្រាហាំ ជីតាអ្នក, ហើយ ក៏ជាព្រះ របស់ អ៊ីសាកដែរ។ យើង នឹងប្រគល់ ទឹកដី ដែលអ្នក ដេកលើនេះ ដល់អ្នក និងពូជពង្ស របស់អ្នក។ ពូជពង្ស របស់អ្នក នឹងមាន ចំនួនច្រើន ដូចធូលីដី។ ទឹកដី របស់អ្នក នឹងលាតសន្ធឹង ទៅទិស ខាងលិច, ទិស ខាងកើត, ទិស ខាងជើង, និងទិស ខាងត្បូង។ ក្រុមគ្រួសារ ទាំងអស់ នៅលើផែនដី នឹងបាន ទទួលពរ ដោយសារអ្នក និងពូជពង្ស របស់អ្នក។ ចំពោះ យើងផ្ទាល់, យើង នឹងស្ថិតនៅ ជាមួយអ្នក; យើង នឹងថែរក្សាអ្នក គ្រប់ទីកន្លែង ដែលអ្នកទៅ, ហើយ យើង នឹងនាំអ្នក ត្រឡប់ មកទឹកដី នេះវិញ។ ដ្បិត យើង មិនបោះបង់ចោល អ្នកឡើយ, គឺ យើង នឹងសំរេចអ្វី ទាំងអស់ តាមពាក្យ ដែលយើង សន្យានេះ។»

យ៉ាកុប ភ្ញាក់ឡើង, ហើយ ពោលថា៖ «ព្រះយ៉ាវេ ពិតជាគង់ នៅកន្លែងនេះ មែន, តែ ខ្ញុំ មិនដឹងសោះ។» លោក ភ័យខ្លាច ជាខ្លាំង, ហើយ ពោលថា៖ «កន្លែងនេះ គួរ ឲ្យស្ញែង ខ្លាចណាស់! គឺ ពិតជាព្រះដំណាក់ របស់ ព្រះជាម្ចាស់, ហើយ ពិតជាទ្វារ នៃស្ថាន បរមសុខ!»

យ៉ាកុប ក្រោកឡើង ពីព្រលឹម, យកដុំថ្ម ដែលលោក កើយនោះ មកដាក់បញ្ឈរ ជាស្ដូប, រួច ចាក់ប្រេង ពីលើ។ លោក ដាក់ឈ្មោះ កន្លែងនោះ ថា ,«បេតអែល»។ ប៉ុន្តែ កាលពីដើម, គេ ហៅកន្លែងនោះ ថា, «លូស»។

យ៉ាកុប បន់ថា៖ «ប្រសិនបើ ព្រះជាម្ចាស់ គង់ជាមួយខ្ញុំ និងថែរក្សាខ្ញុំ តាមផ្លូវ ដែលខ្ញុំ ធ្វើដំណើរទៅ, ប្រសិនបើ ព្រះអង្គ ប្រទាន ឲ្យខ្ញុំ មានអាហារ បរិភោគ និងសម្លៀក បំពាក់, ហើយ ប្រសិនបើ ខ្ញុំ វិលត្រឡប់ ទៅផ្ទះឪពុក ខ្ញុំវិញ ដោយសុខសាន្ត, នោះ ខ្ញុំ នឹងគោរព បំរើ ព្រះយ៉ាវេ ទុកជាព្រះ របស់ខ្ញុំ មែន។ ដុំថ្ម, ដែលខ្ញុំ លើកបញ្ឈរ ឡើងនេះ, ជា ព្រះដំណាក់ របស់ ព្រះជាម្ចាស់។ អ្វីៗ ដែលព្រះអង្គ ប្រទានមក ទូលបង្គំ, ទូលបង្គំ នឹងយក មួយ ភាគដប់ ថ្វាយព្រះអង្គវិញ។»

Genesis 28 New International Version (NIV)

28 So Isaac called for Jacob and blessed him. Then he commanded him: “Do not marry a Canaanite woman. ²Go at once to Paddan Aram,^[a] to the house of your mother’s father Bethuel. Take a wife for yourself there, from among the daughters of Laban, your mother’s brother. ³May God Almighty^[b] bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples. ⁴May he give you and your descendants the blessing given to Abraham, so that you may take possession of the land where you now reside as a foreigner, the land God gave to Abraham.” ⁵Then Isaac sent Jacob on his way, and he went to Paddan Aram, to Laban son of Bethuel the Aramean, the brother of Rebekah, who was the mother of Jacob and Esau.

⁶Now Esau learned that Isaac had blessed Jacob and had sent him to Paddan Aram to take a wife from there, and that when he blessed him he commanded him, “Do not marry a Canaanite woman,” ⁷and that Jacob had obeyed his father and mother and had gone to Paddan Aram. ⁸Esau then realized how displeasing the Canaanite women were to his father Isaac; ⁹so he went to Ishmael and married Mahalath, the sister of Nebaioth and daughter of Ishmael son of Abraham, in addition to the wives he already had.

Jacob’s Dream at Bethel

¹⁰Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Harran. ¹¹When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. ¹²He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. ¹³There above it^[c] stood the Lord, and he said: “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. ¹⁴Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.^[d] ¹⁵I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

¹⁶When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.” ¹⁷He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.”

¹⁸Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it. ¹⁹He called that place Bethel,^[e] though the city used to be called Luz.

²⁰Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear ²¹so that I return safely to my father’s household, then the Lord^[f] will be my God ²²and^[g] this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.”
