Sudanese mother put on death row for marrying a Christian could now face new trial after her own brother blocked her escape to the US

epa04282952 (FILE) A file photo dated 29 May 2014 shows Sudanese woman Meriam Ibrahim, who was on death row for marrying a Christian and refusing to convert back to Islam, at Omdurman women's prison near Khartoum, Sudan. Sudanese authorities have extended the detention of Meriam Yehya Ibrahim, freed from death row despite refusing to recant her Christian faith, her lawyer said 26 June 2014. Ibrahim was arrested 25 June at Khartoum airport as she was trying to leave the country with her husband and two children. The four remained in custody at a Khartoum police station on Thursday. Ibrahim's custody had been prolonged by 72 hours, lawyer Mohaned Mustafa al-Nour said. Ibrahim has been accused of trying to leave the country with forged travel documents. She had presented emergency travel documents issued by the South Sudanese embassy and a US entry visa from the US embassy in Khartoum. EPA/STRINGER
