ចម្លើយ៖ ក្នុងឋានៈខ្ញុំ ជាអ្នកតំណាងរាស្ត្រ សាមញ្ញមួយរូប, ខ្ញុំ នឹងមានពេល ច្រើនជាង ដើម្បី ជួយផ្តល់គំនិត និងការណែនាំ ដល់សហការី របស់ខ្ញុំ ដែលមានតំណែង ផ្លូវការ ខ្ពស់ជាងខ្ញុំ នៅក្នុងរដ្ឋសភា។  ខ្ញុំ ចង់ផ្តល់ ឲ្យសហការី របស់ខ្ញុំ ដែលមាន វ័យក្មេងជាងខ្ញុំ នូវឱកាស ដើម្បី ទទួលបាន បទពិសោធន៍ ក្នុងកិច្ចការរដ្ឋ, បង្ហាញ ពីភាពស្មោះត្រង់ ក្នុងការបម្រើ ប្រជារាស្ត្រ, ហើយ ក្លាយទៅ ជាអ្នកដឹកនាំ ជំនាន់ក្រោយ ដ៏ល្អ ដែលប្រទេសយើង ត្រូវការ។

In the 26 August 2014 edition of The Phnom Penh Post, I was asked the question why I (Sam Rainsy) have refused to occupy any leadership position at the National Assembly. Answer: As an ordinary National Assembly member, I will have more time to advise and guide my higher-ranking colleagues.
