'I was Hitler's food taster': Woman who had most dangerous job in Nazi Germany reveals how she cried at end of every meal - because she had survived

Margot and Hitler

Margo Wölk, left, had one of the most dangerous jobs in Nazi Germany - tasting Adolf Hitler's food to ensure it hadn't been poisoned. The 96-year-old, from Berlin, was one of 15 women given the deadly task and has recalled how some of her colleagues would 'shed tears' as they ate, fearing the meal could be their last. Hitler, right, only ate vegetarian meals, she said. Ms Wölk managed to escape in 1944, but the horror of the war was far from over. She was later captured and confined by Russian soldiers who raped her for 14 days.
