ប្រាជ្ញា​ ការពារ​មនុស្ស​ ពី​អំពើ​អាក្រក់

កូន​ អើយ, ចូរ ​ចង​ចាំ​ ដំបូន្មាន​ របស់​ឪពុក។

កុំ​ ភ្លេច​សេចក្ដី ​ដែល​ឪពុក ​ផ្ដែផ្ដាំ​ នេះ​ឡើយ។

ចូរ ​ផ្ទៀង​ត្រចៀក​ ស្ដាប់​ប្រាជ្ញា,

ហើយ​ ផ្ចង់​ចិត្ត ​ពិចារណា ​ឲ្យ​យល់។

ចូរ​ យក​តម្រិះ​ មក​ធ្វើ​ ជា​ជំនួយ,

ហើយ​ យក​ការ​ ដឹង​ខុស​ត្រូវ ​មក​ធ្វើ ​ជា​ទី​ពឹង។

ចូរ​ ខំ​ប្រឹង​ ស្វែង​រក ​ប្រាជ្ញា,

ដូច​ស្វែង​រក​ ប្រាក់ និង​ដូច​ជីក​ដី​ រក​កំណប់។

ធ្វើ​ដូច្នេះ ​ទើប​ កូន ​យល់​អំពី ​ការ​គោរព

កោត​ខ្លាច ​ព្រះអម្ចាស់,

ព្រម​ទាំង​ អាច​ស្គាល់ ​ព្រះអង្គ ​បាន​ទៀត​ផង។

មាន​តែ ព្រះអម្ចាស់​ទេ ​ដែល​ប្រទាន ​ប្រាជ្ញា។

ចំណេះ​វិជ្ជា និង​ការ​ ដឹង​ខុស​ត្រូវ

សុទ្ធ​តែ​ មក​ពីព្រះអង្គ​ ទាំង​អស់។

ព្រះអង្គ ​ជួយ​មនុស្ស​ ទៀង​ត្រង់,

ហើយ ​ធ្វើ​ជា​ខែល​ ការពារ អស់​អ្នក ​

ដែល​ដើរ​តាម​ មាគ៌ា​ ដ៏​ត្រឹម​ត្រូវ។

ព្រះអង្គ​ ជួយ​ការពារ អស់​អ្នក ​ដែល​ដើរ​តាម ​គន្លង​ធម៌,

ហើយ ​ថែរក្សា ​អស់​អ្នក ​ដែល​ផ្ញើ ​ជីវិត ​លើព្រះអង្គ។

ប្រសិន​បើ​ កូន​ ស្ដាប់​ឪពុក,

កូន​ នឹង​យល់ ​អំពី ​មាគ៌ា​ ដ៏​សុចរិត,

ទៀង​ត្រង់, និង​ត្រឹម​ត្រូវ,

ពោល ​គឺ, ​អ្វីៗ​ ទាំង​អស់ ​ដែល​នាំ​ មកនូវ​ សុភមង្គល។

ដូច្នេះ កូន​ នឹង​ទៅ​ ជា​មនុស្ស​ មាន​ប្រាជ្ញា,

ហើយ ​កូន​ នឹង​មាន ​ចិត្ត​ត្រេកអរ​ ដោយ​ចេះ​ដឹង។

ការ​ចេះ​គិត​ ពិចារណា​ នឹង​ការពារ​កូន,

ហើយ​ ការ​ដឹង​ខុស​ត្រូវ ​នឹង​ថែរក្សា​កូន

មិន​ឲ្យ​ធ្លាក់ ​ទៅ​ក្នុង ​មាគ៌ា​អាក្រក់,

ឬ​ធ្លាក់ ​ទៅ​ក្នុង ​កណ្ដាប់​ដៃ ​របស់​ មនុស្ស

ដែល​ពោល​ពាក្យ​ ខិលខូច,

ឬ​មនុស្ស​ ដែល​បោះបង់​ផ្លូវ​ ទៀង​ត្រង់,

ហើយ​ បែរ​ ទៅ​រក​ផ្លូវ ​ងងឹត ​នោះ​ឡើយ។

ជន​ទាំង​នោះ ​សប្បាយ​ចិត្ត ​តែ ​នឹងប្រព្រឹត្ត ​អំពើ ​អាក្រក់,

ហើយ​ ត្រេកត្រអាល​ តែ​ នឹង​អំពើ​ ខិលខូច។

អ្វីៗ ​ដែល​គេ​ធ្វើ សុទ្ធ​តែ ​វៀចវេរ។

មាគ៌ា ​របស់​គេ ​មិន​ដែល​ត្រង់​ ទាល់​តែ​សោះ។ 

Moral Benefits of Wisdom

My son, if you accept my words
    and store up my commands within you,
² turning your ear to wisdom
    and applying your heart to understanding—
³ indeed, if you call out for insight
    and cry aloud for understanding,
⁴ and if you look for it as for silver
    and search for it as for hidden treasure,
⁵ then you will understand the fear of the Lord
    and find the knowledge of God.
⁶ For the Lord gives wisdom;
    from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
⁷ He holds success in store for the upright,
    he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
⁸ for he guards the course of the just
    and protects the way of his faithful ones.

⁹ Then you will understand what is right and just
    and fair—every good path.
¹⁰ For wisdom will enter your heart,
    and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
¹¹ Discretion will protect you,
    and understanding will guard you.

Proverbs: Background Note

If Solomon is granted a prominent role in the book, most of Proverbs would stem from the tenth century b.c. [before Christ] during the time of Israel’s united kingdom. The peace and prosperity that characterized that era accord well with the development of reflective wisdom and the production of literary works...

Purpose and Teaching

...According to the prologue (1:1–7), Proverbs was written to give “prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young” (1:4), and to make the wise even wiser (1:5). ...

In any event, the concluding epitomizing of wisdom in the wife of noble character forms a literary frame with the opening discourses, wherewisdom is personified as a woman.
