ចូរ ស្ដាប់ឪពុក ប្រៀនប្រដៅ; ហើយ ត្រងត្រាប់ ស្ដាប់ម្ដាយ
ទូន្មាន, ដ្បិត ដំបូន្មាន របស់ ឪពុកម្ដាយ នឹងកសាង ចរិយាសម្បត្តិ
របស់កូន ឲ្យបានល្អ ដូចមកុដ និងខ្សែ ក មាស។
កូន អើយ,
បើ មានជនពាល មក បបួលកូន ទៅប្រព្រឹត្ត អំពើ អាក្រក់, កុំ ទៅតាមគេ ឡើយ។ បើ ជនពាល បបួលកូន ថា, «ចូរ មកជាមួយ ពួកយើង។
យើង នឹងស្ទាក់ផ្លូវ ចាំបង្ហូរឈាម; ហើយ
យើង នឹងវាយឆ្មក់ សម្លាប់មនុស្ស ស្លូតត្រង់ លេង។ យើង នឹងលុប បំបាត់ ពួកគេ ដូចមច្ចុរាជ លេបបំបាត់ ពួកគេ ទាំងរស់;
ហើយ ធ្វើ ឲ្យពួកគេ វិនាសសូន្យ ដូចអស់អ្នក ដែលធ្លាក់ ក្នុងរណ្ដៅ។
រួចហើយ យើង រឹបអូស របស់ មានតម្លៃ ទាំងប៉ុន្មាន
ពីពួកគេ យកទៅដាក់ ឲ្យពេញផ្ទះយើង។ ចូរ មករួម
ជាមួយយើង។ យើង នឹងចែករបស់ ដែលរឹបអូស យកបាននោះ
ជាមួយគ្នា។»

8 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
9 They are a garland to grace your head
and a chain to adorn your neck.

do not set foot on their paths;
16 for their feet rush into evil,
they are swift to shed blood.
17 How useless to spread a net
where every bird can see it!
18 These men lie in wait for their own blood;

19 Such are the paths of all who go after ill-gotten gain;
it takes away the life of those who get it.

stem from the tenth century b.c. [before Christ] during the time of Israel’s united
kingdom. The peace and prosperity that characterized that era accord
well with the development of reflective wisdom and the production of
literary works...
