Bokor
Mountain, we passed by on our way to Sihanoukville today. RFA did a
follow-up story on the sham perpetrated by Vietnam in sending flowing
groups of its citizens on a "religious pilgrimage" to Kampot and up
Bokor Mountain to worship at its sacred site festooned with images of Ho
Chi Minh, facilitated by okhna Sok Kong who controls the whole mountain
in business rights. Before no one outside of these "pilgrims" were allowed to these "sacred" lands, now they just have to pay a hefty fee.
Vietnam should be condemned for (1) making light of, exploiting serious, genuine plight of religious minority groups, e.g., Rohingyas, and (2) Vietnamization, the modern policy of "eating silkworms".

Btw, the road up to Bokor was only made passable in the last few years through the obscene concession to tycoon Sok Kong.
