VIETNAM MUST RESPECT THE 1991 PARIS AGREEMENTS ON CAMBODIA
The most effective means, under the present circumstances, to force neighboring countries to respect Cambodia's territorial integrity would be an official demand by the Cambodian government to the international community for an effective implementation of the 1991 Paris Agreements on Cambodia, which constitute an international treaty still in force. We all know that Thailand, Laos and Vietnam were also signatories of these agreements and that all signatories have committed themselves to respecting and, moreover, to helping defend Cambodia's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity after their signing off the agreements on 23 October 1991. Therefore, any country that violates Cambodia's territorial integrity would be seriously condemned by the international community. In particular Vietnam would suffer such an embarrassing condemnation at a time when she needs international support in her confrontation with China in the South China Sea.
