Yet Mr. Rainsy said he was not threatened by his partner in the “culture of dialogue”
PM Says CNRP’s Land Plans Will Stoke War
The Cambodia Daily | 23 September 2015
Prime Minister Hun Sen on [T2P: the mouthpiece of Vietnam] Tuesday warned that a CNRP victory in the 2018 national election would inevitably lead to war when the opposition party starts redistributing land from the rich to the poor, something that opposition leader Sam Rainsy said would only be done by an independent tribunal.
Speaking at the Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh at a conference on the future of tourism in the city, Mr. Hun Sen said that even if the CNRP were to win the election, it would struggle against entrenched pockets of power in the country.
“So, of course, war will happen,” the prime minister added. “This point is a point that must be considered.”
“Today is about tourism, but there is a relationship between war and peace,” he said. “People have left Libya, Syria, Iraq and other countries for Europe. Why? It is because of war, color revolutions, and a want for change.”
Mr. Rainsy, the opposition leader, said by telephone after Mr. Hun Sen’s speech that a CNRP government would not summarily seize all land and hotels belonging to the rich and accused Mr. Hun Sen of twisting the opposition’s policies.
“It is a distortion—a funny distortion—of my conception of social justice. I have lived in a developed country where there are very rich people but there is a peaceful and voluntary system of income redistribution,” Mr. Rainsy said.

“It is a distortion—a funny distortion—of my conception of social justice. I have lived in a developed country where there are very rich people but there is a peaceful and voluntary system of income redistribution,” Mr. Rainsy said.
“Hun Sen has some extremist ideas that he cannot get rid of. People who have lived in developed countries…know that this has nothing to do with my interpretation of justice.”
Yet Mr. Rainsy said that land redistribution could occur were a CNRP government to set up a tribunal to investigate illegal land grabs by tycoons under Mr. Hun Sen’s rule.
“I will not position myself as a judge. This would be the work for an independent tribunal dealing with land stolen from the poor, and there could be investigations in the future, conducted by an independent tribunal,” Mr. Rainsy said.
“I am not going to say something as if I am the tribunal. The conception [of land reform] is totally different. Even when we lead the government, we would leave this task to an independent tribunal independent of the executive,” he said.

“We cannot say beforehand that we would target this one or that one. We would leave it to the justice system.”
Mr. Hun Sen also again raised a July 23 interview Mr. Rainsy gave the Paris-based Liberation newspaper during which he said he believed that Mr. Hun Sen wanted to avoid the fate of executed Libyan dictator Muammar el-Qaddafi.
Mr. Hun Sen also again raised a July 23 interview Mr. Rainsy gave the Paris-based Liberation newspaper during which he said he believed that Mr. Hun Sen wanted to avoid the fate of executed Libyan dictator Muammar el-Qaddafi.
“What did you mean by ‘the fate of Qaddafi?’ Provide a proper clarification. That is not a change by election,” he said. “Do you want to topple me by military force? If you want to topple me by military, you should reserve a coffin.”
“I am telling you, before I become Qaddafi, you will have to die before me,” Mr. Hun Sen said to Mr. Rainsy.
Yet Mr. Rainsy said he was not threatened by his partner in the “culture of dialogue” saying that war would come in response to a future CNRP government’s efforts to find justice.
“We are reinforced in our will. There will be no war because there will be a broad national government, of people from all walks of life and tendencies. So we can assure the Cambodian people of the rule of law and social justice,” he said.
“Those who have not done anything wrong toward the nation and the people have nothing to fear.”
If a war should break out, because Hun Sen starts one.
ReplyDeleteTo live in and with " Hun Sen Peace ", Cambodia will definitely become a Khmer Champa.
We cannot and will not let it happen.
Ah Chor Hun Sen,
ReplyDeleteThis traitor Hun Sen is strong only against his own people. With his master Yuon, this dog Hun Sen has always been put his tail between his legs.
Don't forget to call on the UN's s rapporteur to focus on the K5 project, which you had vividly supported, resulting of hundreds thousands of Khmer people dead. And Vietnam's goal was to obliterate Khmer race like it did to Cham people.
I am still wondering what did Hun Sen do, or how many Khmer people did Hun Sen kill, in order to gain trust from Vietnam who put him in power to replace Penn Sovann?
It looks like this one eye monster Hun Sen had promised something strange to Vietnam, that's why every time the border issues arise, some Khmer nationalists go to jail. This has been the resolution that this devil Hun Sen has done to silence Khmer people from involving in the territorial integrity.
KI was founded by Mr. Heng Soy (Tan Phalkun) in the sole purpose of giving Khmer people a place to express their opinion freely regarding the situation in Cambodia.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, after his death, these new KI's administrators have turned this blog into a business, highly likely accepting a huge sum of money from Ah Kwack Hun Sen and Yuon. They have successfully chased away the vast majority of Khmer people from that Blog when these crooks required their IDs.
Who dares to say the truth in that KI with their IDs?
Some people still said something bad about Ah Kwack Hun Sen in KI, but how do we know that those critics are real ? They are maybe just Hun Sen's agents who come to lure people into Hun Sen's trap (with their IDs).
Therefore, those crooks at KI must stop abusing Heng Soy's principals and lift that ID's requirement so that people can say something to help Cambodia.

DeleteYour stupid copy and paste comment has nothing to do with the article, jackass.
You seem to worry about KI more than Hun Sen, asshole!

ReplyDeleteThat ashole at 1:33pm did not worry about KI. He wanted KI to respect its founder's principal: let Khmer people express their opinion freely in KI - NO more ID's requirement. Maybe, it is impossible to do now since these crooks KI's administrators might have taken some "fortune" from Ah Chor Prey Hun Sen.
