The Hussain family (from left to right: Father Nissar Hussain, 49, his children, Anniesa, 21, Miriam, 17, Leena, 14, Isaaq, 7, Sarah, 19, and wife Kubra, 45) are regarded as 'blasphemers' by their neighbours who smash their car windows (bottom right) and attack them in the street. Police have been called to deal with the trouble, but they are thought to be reluctant to brand the abuse as a hate crime. The problems started when Mr Hussain took part in a Channel 4 Dispatches TV documentary about the mistreatment of Muslim converts, which was screened in 2008. They were recognised by a large Muslim family living on the same street in Bradford and were immediately targeted.
