Many of us have heard the old legend about why Christopher Columbus was told he could not sail too far west. According to the legend, Columbus was repeatedly told that he could not sail west to India because the Earth was flat. If he sailed too far, he would fall off the edge. That story was a piece of fiction cooked up by Washington Irving in the 1830s....
I disagree with Christian Creationist when it comes to round earth and moving earth. Show me a person who can stand on bottom of a water tower and I will believe that the earth is round. Impossible, gravitation will not work.
A spherical dome is probably what scripture talking about. Yes, a dome that enclosed the earth where the stars reside.
Scripture sighted that "Every eye shall see him (Jesus) when he comes back", well, this could only be true if the earth is flat. And if the New Jerusalem is 1500 miles square..,. it should be written, "And the New Jerusalem arches over the globe..." something like that. But no, it is Square!!!
I saw the equation in 1500 miles there should be at least 100 miles drop in a globe earth. This is if you were to draw a flat line on top of a globe 1500 mile in a flat plain and draw a straight line down at the point of where the 1500 mile would have wrap on a ball globe. Not sure if this could be understood.
There's my 2 cents reasoning why the earth is Flat.
