The
prime minister and senior government officials are due to fly to Hanoi
today for a busy two days of international summits and conferences
involving regional leaders.
According
to a press release from the Foreign Ministry, the Cambodian delegation
will attend the eighth Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Summit,
seventh Ayayawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy
(ACMECS) Summit and the 2016 World Economic Forum Mekong Conference.
It
noted that the prime minister would be accompanied by Public Works
Minister Sun Chanthol, Tourism Minister Thong Khon and Minister of
Commerce Pan Sorasak.
All three events will discuss ways to boost regional cooperation and business, the ministry said.
Chinese
state news agency Xinhua said that at a press conference last
Wednesday, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Dinh Quy described
the two summits as “meetings among brothers, traditional friends and
neighbors.”
