Cambodia, Vietnam ink trade enhancement deal

Cambodia and
Vietnam signed a trade enhancement agreement on Wednesday, which will see
Cambodia export 300,000 tons of rice to Vietnam annually in a duty-free way,
according to a press release.
The press release issued by the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce said the deal was inked in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam.
The agreement was made when the high delegations of both countries attended the 7th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, and the 8th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Cooperation Summit, and the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the Mekong.
"According to the agreement, Cambodia has agreed to grant Vietnam a special preferential duty (zero percent) on 29 tariff-lines, while Vietnam, in return, has agreed to grant Cambodia a special preferential duty (zero percent) on 39 tariff-lines which include 300,000 tons of rice export annually and 3,000 tons of dried tobacco leaf export for 2016-2017," the press release said.
