PHNOM PENH – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim
Ngân and President of the Senate of Cambodia Say Chhum vowed to do their best
to strengthen ties between the two legislatures through high-level visits
during their meeting in Phnom Penh yesterday.
Ngân suggested the two countries
further raise public awareness of mutual support for each other among young
generations.
She also took the occasion to ask the
Vietnamese NA, the Cambodian Senate and legislature to continue their mutual
assistance.
Speaking highly of the Senate
President’s role in fostering ties between the two States, NAs and peoples,
Ngân wished that in his position, Chhum will continue boosting bilateral ties.
The guest wished that Cambodia will
successfully hold the election of deputies to the communal and district
councils and the NA by 2018.
Chhum thanked the Vietnamese
legislature for its assistance in personnel training and infrastructure.
He congratulated Việt Nam
on its achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of Việt Nam
and wished that Việt Nam will reap more successes.
Host and guest hoped that the two
countries would settle remaining issues to build a border of peace, friendship,
co-operation and development, saying that the completion of demarcation is a
great asset.
The same day, Ngân paid a courtesy
call to Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni.
She made it clear that the Vietnamese
Party, State, NA and people will nurture the traditional friendship with
Cambodia.
The guest asked the King to instruct
concerned agencies to help Vietnamese nationals in the country.
The Vietnamese legislature will
strive together with the Cambodian Senate and NA to share information and
legislation experience, as well as work together to monitor the implementation
of signed agreements, she said.
The King affirmed that the Cambodian
people remember the great support of Vieät Nam, especially during national
liberation and current national development.
He believed that the visit would
further tighten neighbourliness and long solidarity between the two countries.
Before leaving Cambodia for Myanmar
for a visit and to attend the 37th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, Ngân met
Vietnamese nationals living in Cambodia, visited Cho Ray Phnom Penh hospital
and Angkor Milk plant [Vina Milk]. — VNS

There is no way Cambodia can compete with Vietnam. In the future, Vietnamese will own every thing in Cambodia.
