Cambodia boosts 2017 defence budget

IHS Jane's Defence Weekly | 18 November 2016

Cambodia has allocated USD455 million for the country's 2017 defence budget, the government in Phnom Penh has announced.

The expenditure represents a 19% increase over the 2016 defence budget of USD383 million.

According to government statements covered by national media, the 2017 defence budget accounts for around 9% of the total government expenditure in the year.

Hun Manet, the eldest son of prime minister Hun Sen, who is also a lieutenant general in the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), told the Phnom Penh Postthat a large part of the 2017 defence budget will go towards a pay rise for military personnel.

There are four software-IT parks in Vietnam generating hundreds of millions in US dollars annually.

In total, Vietnam generates 1.5 billion US dollars in Software and IT service annually. Cambodia virtually has none and actually depends on Vietnam for software as well as IT service.

Last years you Khmer folks went nuts when Cambodian government signed a treaty with Vietnam to receive IT secure/encryption agreement with Vietnam.

You don't like it, but do you have a choice? I used to tutor Khmer students in school (for free), and oh man, they were so dense, way below any other race I have helped before.

First, stop addressing as "ah". That's rude. Second, are you making a veil threat against me? What do you mean: They come for you?

Khmers have a habit of making death threats over silly things. When Mr. Hun Sen put a few of those making threats into jail, they went nuts over freedom of expression.

You need to stop making death threats, inciting killing/murdering other people.

Not only are you incriminating yourself, ah Drgunzet, but you manage to recognize your own sex as well, "Ah"? LOL! I hope you are not "Kteuy" or are you? ROFLMAO!!! Furthermore, take that expression "They come for you" to the police, and see what they say...You'll be surprised what they'll tell you, ah Drgunzet? Finally, one can see that your old die-hard racist habit got the best of you every time, eh - re your last 4 statements of your comment. Now go [enjoy] playing with yourself ah Gunzet!!!

Wow, in 2014 news: Samsung could double-down the investment in Vietnam. In 2016 news, they did.

    http://www.thanhniennews.com/business/samsung-could-doubledown-on-vietnam-by-2017-35580.html

Look at the thousand of high-tech jobs in that one factory. Vietnamese workers are very well paid, nicely treated there.

Wow, look at these images from the google search:

Cambodia will never have the Koreans to invest in such nice factories. Khmers kept making fun of the Koreans for eating dogs.
