Voter registration process, VERIFICATION of information -- HOW EASY it is for NEC (even absence of bad faith) to make a mistake AND for me (a literate person) not to catch it, AND consequently for me to be disqualified on voting day

This photo reminds me of a thought that crossed my mind when I was at this stage of the voter registration process, VERIFICATION of information (person’s ID card info entered into computer; info entered by hand onto receipt):
HOW EASY it is for NEC (even absence of bad faith) to make a mistake AND for me (a literate person) not to catch it, AND consequently for me to be disqualified on voting day.
What I witnessed firsthand during registration in Treng Trayeung district (including Kirirom) of Kampong Speu, however, is a highly illiterate population. And even those with a basic reading fluency, it’s difficult to keep focus and follow meticulously the detailed verification process, even with good eyesight, the info (i) of ID card and that entered on the computer screen, (ii) and on the computer screen and the written receipt.
I haven’t seen any awareness raising on this potentially highly problematic issue.
It’d be of interest to keep track of how many registered voters will be disqualified on voting day due to this problem.
