១៧ មេសា ២០១៧ / 17 April 2017 

ថ្ងៃ ១៧ មេសា ២០១៧ នេះ គឺ ជាខួប ទី៤២ នៃថ្ងៃឡើង កាន់អំណាច របស់ ពួកខ្មែរក្រហម ដឹកនាំដោយ ប៉ុល ពត កាលពីឆ្នាំ ១៩៧៥ ដែលជាថ្ងៃ ចាប់ផ្តើម ការសម្លាប់រង្គាល មកលើ ប្រជារាស្ត្រ ខ្មែរ។

ក្នុងរយៈពេល ២០ ឆ្នាំ ចុងក្រោយនេះ មានតែ គណបក្ស សម រង្ស៊ី និង គណបក្ស សង្គ្រោះជាតិទេ ដែលតែងតែ ប្រារព្ធពិធី ស្មឹងស្មាធ និងឧទ្ទិស បុណ្យកុសល ដល់ដួងវិញ្ញាណក្ខន្ធ ជនរងគ្រោះ រាប់លាននាក់ ដែលបាន បាត់បង់ ជីវិត។ 

សូម រំលឹក ថា, ក្រោយពីរបប ខ្មែរក្រហម ដឹកនាំដោយ ប៉ុល ពត (កុម្មុយនីស្ត ចំណុះចិន) បានដួលរលំ នៅឆ្នាំ ១៩៧៩, របបថ្មី ដែលមកជំនួស ដឹកនាំដោយ ហេង សំរិន (កុម្មុយនីស្ត ចំណុះយួន) បានបន្ត អបអរសាទរ យ៉ាងសប្បាយ ថ្ងៃ ១៧ មេសា ១៩៧៥ នេះ រហូត ដល់ឆ្នាំ ១៩៨៤-១៩៨៥ ពីព្រោះ របប កុម្មុយនីស្ តទាំង ២នេះ ដណ្តើមគ្នា យកកេរ្តិ៍ស្នាដៃ «ជ័យជំនះ លើ ចក្រពត្តិនិយម អាមេរិក»
ក្នុងថ្ងៃ ១៧ មេសា ១៩៧៥ ដោយសារតែ របបទាំង ២នេះ ជារបប កុម្មុយនីស្ត ដូចគ្នា កើតចេញមក ពីប្រភព កុម្មុយនីស្ត តែមួយ ក្នុងឆ្នាំ ១៩៥១។

42th anniversary of the Khmer Rouge takeover

Over the last 20 years, only the Sam Rainsy Party and the CNRP have commemorated every year this sad anniversary of the Khmer Rouge takeover, whereas the CPP have just ignored it after having joyfully celebrated 17 April 1975 every year from 1979 to 1985, as the victory day of the Khmer revolutionary communist movement born in 1951. Actually, both the pro-Chinese Khmer Rouge led by Pol Pot (1975-1979) and the pro-Vietnamese Khmer Rouge led by Heng Samrin (1979-1989) have, for a long time, disputed the paternity of the "victory of the Khmer communist revolutionary movement over the U.S. imperialism" on 17 April 1975.
