I rode out to Sre Ambil with Te, the young man in the blue shirt. He's the godson of Lauk Pou Son Soubert. I first met him in 1995 when I first visited this children's home. At the age of 7, in 1994 less than a year after the first UNTAC elections when hundreds were hunted down by the CPP-Vietnamese security forces, Te witnessed 2 men kill his father at their home in Battambang; it was a political murder of a man they been hunting down for some years now. His father was a political operative from Kampuchea Krom (now southern Vietnam) who had joined the resistance led by Lauk Ta Son Sann along the Thai-Cambodian border.
