Cambodia's defence officers visit Soc Trang province

Soc Trang (VNA) – Lieutenant General Yong Mao, deputy director of the Development Department under Cambodia’s Ministry of Defence, and other officers paid a working visit to the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang on October 10.
Yong Mao briefed local authorities about the border security and the situation of overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia.
He expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese army and people for supporting Cambodia over the past time.
Cambodia always remembers the valuable assistance of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers in the liberation of Cambodia from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime, he said. [CeePeePee's Hallelujah Chorus]
The two sides exchanged cooperation opportunities between Cambodia’s Development Department and Soc Trang province in the field of economics in the coming time.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ngo Hung said the locality is interested in implementing programmes and policies to take care of poor households, especially the Khmer people.
He hoped that Cambodia’s Development Department will provide more support for Vietnamese expatriates.-VNA
