Efforts exerted to search for martyrs’ remains in Cambodia

Vietnam Plus | 18 October 2017

Gia Lai (VNA) – The Military Command in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai on October 18 launched a campaign to search for and repatriate Vietnamese soldiers who died in wartime in Cambodia.

The work during the 2017-2018 dry season manifested the gratitude for the sacrifice of Vietnamese martyrs in Cambodia.

In that dry season, which will last until the end of April, the search team will carry out their work in Rattanakiri, Preah Vihear and Stung Treng provinces.

Established in 2001, Gia Lai’s search team has to date found and repatriated 1,374 sets of remains of Vietnamese soldiers.

During the 2016-2017 dry season, 29 sets of remains were repatriated. -VNA

Martyrs? No, those are called Vietcong suicide commandos dated all the way back to 1970 when Hanoi sent hundreds of thousands of them to support Sihanouk/Pol Pot Khmer rouge to kill Khmer people. They came half-naked with just shorts, Ho Chi Minh sandal, crew hair cut, heavily oiled/greased body, heavily armed and heavily drunk of fish sauce...]... They were no martyrs...They were just Khmer people killer, the Vietcong suicide commandos...

They were the night killers. They were the first to attack which then followed by the regular Vietcong/NVN [North Vietnamese] troops. The Viet had been the Khmer people killer for century...Yes, that is the true color of the Killer Viet vis-a-vis the Khmer people...

In 1972, two companies of North Vietnamese commandos (totaling about 30-40) attacked Phnom Penh's airbase and wiped out the entire Cambodian Royal Air Force. Yes, all Cambodian war planes were destroyed, totaling about 40-50 air planes and helicopters.

The base was defended by several hundred Cambodian troops and also had another couple hundred Cambodian Air Force personnel.

The report wrote: One North Vietnamese commando jumped in an armor personnel carrier, M113 and drove it into the planes parked in the airbase, wrecked so much havoc.

While Cambodian authority claimed 2 North Vietnamese commando were killed, there was no body recovered. On the Cambodian side, hundreds were killed and wounded. The rest surrendered but soon were set free as the North Vietnamese retreated.
