Over the last 24 hours, Hun Sen has threatened to "beat up"
Australians who take part in protests during his visit to the ASEAN
summit in March. These threats are completely unacceptable.
Australians are obviously appalled at these attacks on Cambodian
democracy and many will understandably want to take part in protesting
when Hun Sen visits Australia over coming weeks.
I say to Hun Sen, and to Cambodian Australians, the right to peaceful protest without threats of violence is a cherished part of Australia's democracy.
The Australian Government must make it clear, in no uncertain terms to the Cambodian Government, how unacceptable these threats are and how important it is that they be retracted immediately.

Australia must stop harboring the trouble makers hiding behind Australian citizenships and drum up Cambodian nationalism. It's no difference from Thailand harboring Khmer Rouge at the border to launch attacks into Cambodia. That's evil.
