CAMBODIA: A Shattered Society - A Country Blessed by the Gods

CAMBODIA: A Shattered Society (translated from French "Le Mal cambodgien: histoire d'une societe traditionelle face a ses leaders politiques, 1946-1987", University of California Press, 1989, 1994).  By anthropologist Marie Alexandrine Martin who is Research Director at the Centre national de la Recherche scientifique, Paris.

Introduction: A Country Blessed by the God

In 1970, few minorities inhabited this linguistically and culturally homogenous land...

One-third the size of France, with woodlands covering 70 percent of its territory...

In short, for a Westerners the country breathed ease, well-being, understanding, and beauty, giving them also a feeling of the exotic...

A paradise! This is how foreigners described Cambodia up to the beginning of 1970; they saw it as a country of agreeable abandon. But for this, they had to remain impervious to politics and to the functioning of Khmer society... In return, foreigners could live happily, passing dreamy weekends in the white sands and among the coconut trees of Sihanoukville or on the calcareous Kep islands.

Buddhists are Atheists, they don't believe in GOD, nor gods. How many countries Buddha teaching led to the destruction and destroyed? His teaching is flawed. He renounced GOD the Creator and created His own cult telling his followers to follow him to reach Nirvana. For 800 years Cambodia collapsed since Buddhism was declared as a state religion.
Still the same since I was born, I see nothing change in Cambodia. More monks, more mouth to feed. there goes down economy.
Who will help to feed them? Christian nations.

The Author of this book has no idea about Buddhism. Chat with Dr. Ravi Zacharias, the world great Scholar and great debater.

Btw: Theary. By the way. Can you restore old KI back like in the old day?
The Communists aka School of Vice and Jenda Moni have feared of people voice their opinions so they destroyed the old KI, The School of Vice is the most evil the most hated by most Khmers who used to visited old KI.
