Ceremony
of baptism of the new Khmer officers called " The Promotion of "Ly
Yoeun" was held under the very high patronage of His Majesty King
Norodom Sihanouk. Accompanying King Sihanouk was my beloved late father
Sirik-Matak, Defense Minister of Cambodia. Officer Ly Yoeun was a
courageous young Khmer officer killed in action fighting against the
Vietminh-North Vietnam communist infiltration forces. King Sihanouk
dedicated this promotion to his honor for the services he rendered to
the Khmer nation.
