Xi Jinping Meets with Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia

On May 18, 2014, President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia in Shanghai.
Xi Jinping expressed,
China and Cambodia enjoy a long history of friendship, which remains
steadfast through the trials of time and hardships. It is worth being
cherished. [Only Commies can write this kind of sappy press statement, like a romantic relationship.] No matter how the international situation changes, we must
unswervingly carry forward the development of China-Cambodia
comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership as well as the cause of
China-Cambodia friendship, so as to pass on the friendship between the
two countries and their peoples from generation to generation.
Hun Sen expressed that in
April last year he met with President Xi Jinping in Boao. Over the past
one year time, the important consensuses they reached have been
implemented step by step. The cooperation in various fields and in all
dimensions has enjoyed smooth development. The government and the people
of Cambodia are grateful to China for the long-term precious support
and assistance. They cherish the traditional friendship between the two
countries. The Cambodian side is committed to its own national security,
stability and development and hopes to strengthen the comprehensive
strategic cooperative partnership with the Chinese side, to well manage
the major programs covering the economy and people's livelihood, and to
enhance cooperation in security and law enforcement. Cambodia will, as
always, play a positive role in promoting the sound development of
ASEAN-China relations. Cambodia will coordinate with China to make the
Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia
(CICA) Summit in Shanghai a success.
Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Han Zheng, Yang Jiechi and others were present at the meeting.
