Myanmar military chief to visit Cambodia on ties

PHNOM PENH, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Defense Services, will pay a four-day visit to Cambodia on Wednesday to bolster bilateral ties and cooperation

According to a schedule released by the Cambodian army on Monday, Min Aung Hlaing will fly to Cambodia by a special civil aircraft on Wednesday. 

During his visit, he will meet with Gen. Pol Saroeun, Commander- in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, and then pay separate courtesy calls on Cambodian Defense Minister Gen. Tea Banh and Prime Minister Hun Sen. 

Besides, he will visit the National Defense University before touring tourism sites including the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh and the Angkor Wat Temple, a world heritage site in northwestern Siem Reap province. 

Min Aung Hlaing succeeded retired Senior General Than Shwe as Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Defense Services in March 2011.
