William Hague (centre) dramatically quit as Foreign Secretary
last night as David Cameron embarked on a cull of white, middle-aged men
in his most brutal reshuffle since becoming Tory leader. More than a
dozen ministers - including (clockwise from top, far right) Andrew
Lansley, the Leader of the House of Commons, Dominic Grieve, the
Attorney General, Welsh Secretary David Jones, and Owen Paterson, the
Agriculture Secretary, are leaving the Government, as is the other big
beast to depart Kenneth Clarke (pictured to the left of Hague, bottom
row), who first entered ministerial office in 1972. Mr Cameron's
shake-up is designed to make way for a new generation of younger MPs,
many of them women, including rising stars (clockwise from top left)
Liz Truss, Esther McVey and Nicki Morgan.
