Samaki Rangsey head monk accused of national treason

PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Phnom Penh
Municipal Court summoned Seang Sovannara, head monk of Samaki Rangsey
pagoda in Stung Meanchey, to testify on Sept. 18 for allegedly inciting
crimes and national treason.
Regarding the case, the Phnom Penh
court also summoned prominent monk activist Loun Sovath, and Suon Serey
Rath, leader of US-based Khmer People Power Movement, to appear in the
court on the same day.
Suon Serey Ratha and Luon Sovath were
charged with inciting crimes in Phnom Penh and abroad in 2011, natonal
treason in August 2013 and inciting citizens not to go to cast ballots
in Takeo, Banteay Meanchey, Poipet and Phnom Penh from 2007 to 2013.
