Cambodia: American Fugitive Is Arrested

The police said Wednesday that they had arrested a man identified by the news media as a United States Army deserter wanted in Florida on child pornography charges. Col. Oum Phy, deputy police chief of Kratie Province, said the suspect, Michael Edward Harris, had been arrested Tuesday at the request of the Interior Ministry. Court documents in Orlando show that Mr. Harris was arrested last year on 44 counts of possessing child pornography. He was released after posting bond, but then failed to show up for a hearing early this year. The Cambodia Daily newspaper reported that Mr. Harris had been living in seaside Sihanoukville.
