28 August 2015 - The Khmer Diaspora
- Overseas Cambodians are now one-million-strong including those first-generation refugees’ children and grandchildren who were born abroad since 1975. Those overseas Cambodians are Cambodians like us because they share with us the same Cambodian blood and they love their country as we do. We all, whether living in Cambodia or abroad, belong to one unique Khmer family. Therefore, when considering the regular visits that CNRP leaders pay to thousands of Cambodian people living in the USA, France or Australia, there is no difference from their regular visits to the Cambodian people living for instance in Cambodia’s Battambang, Kampong Cham or Prey Veng provinces. Overseas Cambodians are precious human resources available for Cambodia’s future development because most of them, especially among the young generation, have received good education and possess professional skills in all fields while mastering useful foreign languages.
